Hi ya all, welcome to all the latest news on the darts front. It was a sad day in Torrington on Friday as the funeral, and wakes, of a very popular lad, Daylin Brown, took place. On behalf of all the darts players I would like to send our very deepest sympathy to the family of Daylin, once lovely neighbours to us. Lots of matches were cancelled understandably, because of the tragedy, but here are the results & news of the ones that did play.

DIVISION 1:-
T.V.Cables got another point closer to the runners up spot as they won 4-2, 2-1 at home to St. Giles.
That's because third placed, Torrington Arms "A" could only draw 3-3 away to the Cavalier in the singles. But the Arms lads won 2-1 in the pairs to go two points clear in the race for top spot with their in house rivals, Torrington Arms "B", but the "B"s have a game in hand. Steve Lewis of the Arms "A" hit his now regular 180.

DIVISION 2:-
Royal Reds n' blues crept closer to the title after a fine 4-2, 2-1 win at home to the Green Dragon. They now lead by five points in the singles, and seven in the pairs over nearest rivals, Royal Exchange "A", but the "A"s have a game in hand/
That's after the Royals were held 3-3 in the singles by a now vast improved, Newmarket "A" team. But the Royals showed their pedigree in the pairs, winning 3-0 at the Newmarket venue.
Cyder Presse and Black Horse played out a tough 3-3 draw at the Were Gifford pub, but the home home side just had enough left in the tank to win 2-1 in the pairs.
All other matches, as I have said, were postponed until a later date.

CHALLENGE SHIELD SEMI FINALS & FINAL.
This year the Challenge Shield semi finals and final will be played at the Football Club on Wednesday 24th March, starting at 8pm. The draw for the semi finals has been made and verified at the latest darts meeting held at the Cavalier on Sunday 7th March, and is as follows:-
T.V.Cables verses Torrington Arms "A", and Royal Reds n' Blues verses St.Giles.
Best of luck to all those involved.

This Friday is the main event in the Torrington League, the League Singles knock out competitions, which are being played at Cavalier, Royal Exchange, Newmarket & the Torrington Arms. All participants can view where they are playing on the Cup Competitions page if they , for some strange reason, don't have the information pinned up on their pub wall. As usual, please arrive nice and early, by 7:55, and enjoy the night where ever you may be.

Don't forget, the fixture secretary is leaving at the end of the season due to work commitments, so if anyone out there with a lot of time and dedication on their hands would like to be considered for the role, please either get in touch with myself or Barrie Couch, or state your claim at the A.G.M in the summer.
The next committee meeting will be held on Sunday 28th March at the Cavalier at 8PM, and it would be appreciated if a few more people could get off their backsides and attend the meeting. It has been brought forward a week because of the Easter weekend.
Also, I have been asked to point out that all cups won at last years finals night will be collected from the various pubs who won them. It would be appreciated if landlords / ladies could leave the cups in a clean and undamaged state.
Don't forget that finals night is on FRIDAY 23RD APRIL, and starts at 7:30PM. All pubs & clubs should now be in receipt of a poster for this event, so now there can be no excuses on times or date.
